Passing the Torch: The Foundation to Making Life Better for Others

In today’s interconnected world, the role of companies extends beyond generating profits and maximizing shareholder value. Businesses are increasingly recognizing the importance of contributing positively to society and the environment. Enter Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, which have emerged as a powerful tool for fostering sustainable development, addressing social challenges, and building stronger relationships between companies, their stakeholders, and their communities.

In 2022, Stratum Structural Systems was recognized by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with their highly coveted “Torch Award”. The BBB TORCH Awards recognize companies and charities with exceptional ethics and service to their customers, employees, suppliers, and communities. The award was very appreciated and validated everything our company stands for. And, while winning an award is nice, what does it do for the community? This is when we decided to create the “Pass the Torch” program in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity – St. Louis. Habitat for Humanity “believes in a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” We could not agree more!

Recently our vision for this program came to life as we joined other companies and volunteers on a new home development in Ferguson, MO. As part of the construction on these new homes, Stratum Structural Systems supplied labor and materials to waterproof the basements for these homes for low-income families, which will give the families peace of mind as new homeowners.

By committing to ethical practices, engaging employees and stakeholders, and making a positive impact on communities and the environment, we hope to pave the way for a sustainable and prosperous future for those in need. For us, embracing the Pass the Torch initiative is not just a choice; it’s an opportunity to create a better world for everyone involved.
